The STEM Summer Academy at KMS

The STEM Summer Academy at KMS exposes young students to the world of robotics and engineering.  The task this year was to construct a robot with one or more moving parts.  The robots were assigned two student driven challenges.  This first challenge consisted of a variation of Capture the Flag.  However, instead of one item, the team had multiple colored cubes their robots needed to retrieve.  The second challenge required the students to code their robots to run through a maze and successfully make it to the end zone.   Thank you teachers – Mrs. Natalie Van Hoorebeke and Mrs. MaryJo Gorcyca – from the MDL Kindergarten center.  Below you can watch  slideshows of students creating and testing their robotic creations as well as a robot navigating the maze.
